Columbia River Maritime Museum – Cedar & Sea Digital Interactive Exhibits & AV Media
We designed, developed, and produced digital interactive exhibit software and AV multimedia playback solutions for the Cedar & Sea exhibit gallery at the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon. The digital interactive software features intricate digital design and illustration which visualizes the components of a traditional sealing canoe in an interactive medium, and steps visitors through the process of how northern-style cedar canoes are made. The video-based media features various aspects of the local indigenous peoples’ arts and culture including their tools, carving, weaving, canoe and totem pole making, and fishing. Proximity / motion-triggered sensors were utilized for some of the AV media playback solutions. Soundscapes play overhead in the different areas of the galleries giving visitors a sense of the atmosphere in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, and the beaches of the Pacific Ocean.
We worked closely with the project team to provide all the AV hardware specifics and products for the digital interactive experiences, AV video-based media playback, motion-triggers, and soundscapes.
