Calgary Zoo – Penguins Digital Interactive & AV Multimedia

We designed, developed, and produced a digital interactive with custom digital design, illustration, dynamic animation, and imagery for the revitalized indoor Penguin Plunge at the Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute. The touch-screen multimedia interactive engages visitors with questions and answers on different themes and educates them on interesting fun facts about penguins, and the impacts of climate change on the penguins’ habitat and livelihood. The gamified digital interactive encourages visitors to embrace sustainable environmental practices—small behavioural changes/tasks they can do in their day-to-day lives that can make an impact.
As the visitors answer questions correctly their penguin colony grows as they waddle to the finish, and the penguins have an animated reaction for when visitors answer correctly or incorrectly.
Ambient provided the audio-visual for the project having specified, supplied, and installed the AV hardware for this digital interactive exhibit.
